2020 plans

Hey Everyone!

It sure has been a while since we posted on our blog. It seems so much easier to keep social media updated. In case you don’t already, make sure you are following us on Instagram and Facebook.

We added another sweet little honeybee to our family in September – welcoming McCoy to the keeper crew. We had pulled our super frames and then life happened – so actual extraction took a bit longer this year. We apologize to anyone who didn’t get honey this past year or if you were waiting on us. It was a bit of an adjustment from one kiddo to two needless to say.

You’ll maybe notice a few changes to our website here – stick with us while we try to integrate our shopping page right on our website! You can also order giftcards now from our Square site here: https://squareup.com/gift/A8JR0X0NK2QES/order

Many have asked if we ship our bees south during the winter. We don’t. Mostly because we aren’t large enough – when we say we are a small apiary, we really are small and local! But we also choose not to because it opens up our apiary to disease and stress that we don’t want to expose our yard to. It is an important piece of our apiary management. Our bees spend their winter eating off of their honey stores right here in Minnesota.

We are so excited for our 2020 season! Harper is ready to get geared up in her bee suit and help out at the hives. We are also excited to do a little moving on our honey house now that we took our barn down on the property. We will be installing some new cabinets and a sink to help make extraction and bottling go a lot easier this next season.

We have also had inquiries for honey for certain projects others are working on. Please don’t hesitate to let us know if you are looking for a specific amount. Often times for a special request, we can pull during the summer season and extract what you need.

Don’t forget about our Adopt a Hive program which is happening again in 2020! If you are interested in this program, please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions. We’d love to plan ahead for painting any hives 🙂

Thank you for continuing to support Sweet Cheeks Honey – we are so thankful we get to be a part of our community and provide you all with a delicious and local product – backed by hard work and lots of heart.

Sincerely, your beekeepers, Mark & Sara
